Here we have a deathcard of Obergerfreiter Maximillian Zitzelsberger who was awarded the Iron Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse (EK2/ Iron Cross Second Class), Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen (Infantry Asssault badge)
Maximillian Zitzelsberger was a shoemaker from Deggendorf ( A town in Bavaria, South Germany) and a carpenters son from Wolfertsried (Bavaria).
Maximillian was involved in Heavy fighting in the East and died honourably in the field at the age of 29 and 9 Months.
This deathcard shows the information about Max on one side (Second photo which above info translates to) This detailed side has a Iron cross with a swastika in the middle. The very bottom information details religious script that the family would have on the card to memorialise their relation.
The other side details a full size portrait photo of Maximillian in his M36 tunic of which a EK2 Ribbon can be seen and the top of the Infantry Assault badge in wear in the middle pleat of the breast pocket. The words "Ehre Seinem Andenken!" - Honour His Memory
